Review

Ashleigh B&B in Waterford is exactly the kind of place I love returning to and recommending. This is not its first appearance in my book, and having previously endorsed Phyllis and TJ, it was a genuine pleasure to visit them again. From the moment you arrive, staying here feels like calling in to see your favourite aunt and uncle; warm, welcoming and instantly familiar. Waterford offers so much to explore, while the wider county adds even more reasons to linger. Back at Ashleigh, guests can enjoy cosy, modern rooms and a more than generous breakfast that sets you up beautifully for the day. As for Phyllis’s award-winning brown bread, officially awarded Ireland’s best brown bread, I tasted it myself and completely understand why, absolutely delicious!

It’s no secret that Waterford is Ireland’s oldest city, and with that pedigree comes a historic treasure chest of days out. Kilcohan Park Greyhound Stadium

Just a couple of minutes from Waterford’s pretty waterfront, Kilcohan Park Greyhound Stadium delivers a night out that surprises in all the right ways. In Ireland’s oldest city, it flips tired notions about “the dogs” on their head: lively bars, swift service, and a fizzing buzz the moment the hare moves.

Waterford Suir Valley Railway

Located just a few miles from Waterfords historic City, the Waterford Suir Valley Railway is one of those special attractions that deserves every bit of praise it receives. This is now the second time I have had the pleasure of endorsing this wonderful heritage railway, and getting to visit here again

The Reg

The Reg is one of the most happening bars in Waterford itself, in fact to be honest, I’d go as far as saying, one of the best in Ireland and I don’t make that statement lightly! There’s no airs and graces here and being on many levels,
