Waterford Suir Valley Railway
Review
Located just a few miles from Waterfords historic City, the Waterford Suir Valley Railway is one of those special attractions that deserves every bit of praise it receives. This is now the second time I have had the pleasure of endorsing this wonderful heritage railway, and getting to visit here again, remains a truly memorable experience for me. Run as a community project, it follows 10km of the former Waterford to Dungarvan line, which is an impressive distance for any preserved railway. Ireland has very few places like this left, making its survival and success all the more important. There is real charm here, from the gentle journey through the Suir Valley to the welcoming café and delightful shop housed in an old locomotive. History, passion and local pride are found at every turn. This is a fantastic attraction for families, railway lovers and anyone who appreciates true Irish heritage.
