Review

The Old School House in Corcaghan is a charming place to base yourself while exploring County Monaghan. Owners Steve and Emma have lovingly transformed the former national school, where Steve himself once studied as a boy, into a warm, welcoming accommodation full of character. Bedrooms are bright, fresh and modern, with thoughtful touches that make short or longer stays equally comfortable. What really stands out is their fair-minded approach to pricing; at a time when many places are hiking rates, there’s no sense of being overcharged here, just honest value. With Hughie’s Bar, under the same ownership being only a hop, skip and a jump away, you can enjoy a great night out safe in the knowledge that your cosy bed is just around the corner.
