Review

Mullaghmore Equestrian Centre is one of those rare places where a lifelong passion shines through every detail and time seems to stand still. Owned and run by the indefatigable Marese McCarra, this is one of the most professionally organised equestrian centres I’ve visited in years. Everything is spotless, calm and welcoming, with Marese taking genuine pride not only in what visitors see, but in what they experience. Set in a local heritage treasure trove, I was fortunate to enjoy a guided tour with Marese herself, bringing the landscape and its stories to life. The indoor and outdoor arenas are top notch, while the excellent tack and clothing shop is a destination in its own right. Most impressively, Mullaghmore offers therapeutic riding for children and adults with all kinds of disabilities, with lessons tailored to each rider’s pace and confidence. With comfortable on-site accommodation available, it’s a relaxing, truly inspiring equestrian escape.
