Livingston Inn
Review
The owners of the Livingston Inn haven’t skimped at all on their recent refurbishment of this great little pub. There’s been an inn on this site since the 1700’s and the minute you walk in here, you get a warm and inviting feeling. Having also featured the pub as one of my handful of places to eat, this shows you the caliber of what you are coming to when choosing them as a place to stay. The rooms are compact, clean and perfectly furnished and with a great breakfast to see you on your way the following day, what more can you ask. I’ve found that the quality of accommodation in Scotland has been to a very high standard and the Livingston Inn is a prime example of that and another thing I liked about this pub was the prices were more than reasonable, considering they are only a stone's throw away from Edinburgh.
The Gastro Pub isn’t a usual find in Scotland, don’t get me wrong, they do food really well, it’s just the pub scene is still that little bit more traditional. However, here in sleepy Livingston, lies the Livingston Inn and they have combined the Gastro Pub and a Traditional pub into one and I absolutely love it! Having been originally recommended to me for its great accommodation, the food is that good here, I decided to feature them also for their food. Unfortunately, I wasn’t able to eat here personally myself, but after being told how good they were by so many people who live locally, coupled with their reviews online, I knew you wouldn’t be disappointed by my choice. The owners have spent a lot of money into the refurbishment of both the restaurant and the bar, you couldn’t wish for better surroundings, even the kitchen was absolutely spotless!

Edinburgh is a great city, don’t get us wrong; but to appreciate the whole region you really need to venture further afield into the Lothians to get a real flavour of what the local area is all about.
