Tucked away in the heart of Co. Limerick, the Lazy Dog Shooting Ground is a hidden gem, framed by breath-taking scenery and quiet woodland. I don’t feature many shooting centres in my books, mainly because standards can vary wildly, but this one truly sets the bar. Owners Ray and Mary Sampson have built a superb, no-expense-spared experience, and you sense it the moment you turn down the country track down through the Ballinatober Woods. On arrival, you’re met with a warm welcome, clear guidance, and a brilliantly run operation where safety comes first. The sessions are relaxed, enjoyable, and expertly paced, with varied layouts that keep things interesting. Whether you’re a total beginner or a returning visitor, you’ll feel looked after from start to finish. Add the fresh country air and stunning Limerick views, and you’ll understand why people come back again and again for a proper day out here.
