Kerry Woollen Mills
Review
Just a 15-minute drive from Killarney, on the road towards Valentia Island, Kerry Woollen Mills is one of those rare Kerry treasures that blends heritage, craftsmanship and family pride beautifully. Operating on this historic site since 1760, and in the Eadie family since 1904, with only two families before them, it remains a remarkable working mill with genuine soul. Andrew Eadie, his wife Yvonne, their family and dedicated team have worked tirelessly to protect a tradition that many others have sadly lost. A tour here offers a fascinating insight into wool, its sourcing, and the time-honoured methods still used today, giving visitors a real appreciation of skill passed down through generations. The shop itself is also a joy, filled with quality Irish-made pieces. As this is a busy working mill, tours should be booked at least a day in advance via their website. For me, Kerry Woollen Mills is unmissable.
