Kingstons Boutique Hotel and Pub sits proudly in the heart of the friendly Kerry town of Killorglin, and after staying here myself, I can honestly say what a wonderful place it is. Family owned for generations, its story began in 1889 when John Sheehan, Erwin Kingston’s great-grandfather, first opened the business as a tailor’s shop. Today, under Erwin’s careful custodianship as the fourth generation, it has evolved into a superb pub with beautiful boutique accommodation. Erwin and his late wife Aoife clearly gave so much of themselves to this place, and that warmth still shines through every inch of the Hotel. My own stay here was excellent, with stylish rooms that offered real comfort without any unnecessary fuss or pretension, I can’t wait to return.

FOOD FOR THOUGHT

Kingstons Boutique Hotel and Pub in the heart of friendly Killorglin is exactly what a great Kerry pub should be: welcoming, full of character and genuinely enjoyable. Dating back to 1889, its history is proudly displayed across the walls, giving the place a lovely sense of heritage without ever feeling staged. The bar has a relaxed, local atmosphere and the food offering is honest, simple and very tasty. Pizza is the real speciality here, and they certainly know how to make a good one; it is perfect alongside a pint of Guinness or whatever happens to be your drink of choice. I also enjoyed a fantastic Caesar Salad, generous, fresh and full of flavour. Friendly staff, great value and a proper Kerry welcome. Highly recommended!
