There are military museums up and down the British Isles, some are fantastic and are run just like any big museum in London and some are, without any disrespect, just ok, limited because they are volunteer run and have limited resources, still worth a visit though. But here at the Highlanders Museum at Fort George, they really do know what they're doing. Situated within the fort itself, the minute you walk through the door, your greeted with a warm hello. I found all of the exhibits on display here, to be most interesting and to be able to learn all about the Black Watch, the Royal regiment and just how important they are to our armed forces, was a rare treat. So to surmise, I found the staff to be helpful and super friendly, the facilities were absolutely spot on and even though there is a cost to get into the fort by historic Scotland, this museum is free to enter.
