Blennerville Windmill
Review
“Round like a circle in a spiral, like a wheel within a wheel, never ending or beginning on an ever spinning reel.” A.Bergman/M.Bergman/M.Legrand.
You’ll find the Blennerville Windmill located upon the shores of Tralee, and this fabulous attraction is the largest working windmill in Ireland, and the only windmill along Ireland’s Wild Atlantic Way. It was authentically restored to perfect working order in the 1980’s, and visitors can get up close and personal with this wonderful windmill: which makes a commanding landmark, where the town of Tralee meets the Dingle Peninsula. The scale and intricacy of the windmills machinery is absolutely fascinating for all the family, and you can even climb to the top to see how flour is made! There’s an awesome visitor centre, and a fab guided tour which is interesting, and extremely engaging. Visitors can expect an audio-visual presentation, an emigration exhibition, Kerry’s Model Railway, display of vintage and nostalgic artifacts and a gift shop, making this; “circle that you find in the windmills of your mind” a truly brilliant day out for all the family.
