Barrow House Luxury Manor
Review
Barrow House Luxury Manor casts a spell on Kerry’s North-West coast: a once-faded shoreline grande dame reborn by owner Daragh McDonagh into one of Ireland’s most romantic addresses. Luxury comes as standard, but it’s the storytelling that lingers in each of its eight bird-named rooms, each with its own unique design. The Puffin room stopped me in my tracks: a Chinese-themed sanctuary centred on a Qing-Dynasty opulent marriage bed, a two-century-old canopy masterpiece you’d sooner expect behind museum glass in China. Its carving and proportion hint at patrons of status, its presence whispers promise. Beyond bedrooms, salons glow, fires crackle, and windows frame picture-postcard views across Barrow’s luminous water. Proposals feel inevitable here; weddings, entirely at home. Service is attentive without theatre, the ambiance rich yet gently unhurried. Come for coastal beauty; stay for a house that treats romance not as décor, but as its guiding heart, generous, and utterly, gloriously unforgettable.

Tralee Bay Wetlands Eco & Activity
The Tralee Bay Wetlands Eco & Activity Park is a shining example of how a community project can evolve into a true visitor favourite. This is the second time we’ve endorsed the centre in my Top 100 Attractions on the Island of Ireland book and once again it doesn’t disappoint.

Siamse Tíre - National Folk Theatre of Ireland
Siamse Tire Theatre & Arts Centre returns for a second outing in my Island of Ireland book, a testament to how highly we rate it here at Top 100 Attractions, and I’m certain you will too. Over the years, I’ve watched this cultural gem evolve from its humble beginnings into one of County Kerry’s most important event venues.

Kirby’s Brogue Inn is where Tralee’s legendary welcome meets properly cooked Irish food. Founded by the late Bill Kirby, an exuberant presence in the town and his wife Mary, it now thrives under their experienced daughter Fiona and her husband Kevin, who keep the heart while sharpening the details.
