Having visited hundreds of Guest Houses and B&Bs over the years, I've become quite used to being able to pick up on things that are not quite right, on the other hand, I've also been able to spot the accommodations that I would not change anything about, Arden House is just one of those kinds of properties and to me, the place is just exactly what a B&B should be like. Firstly, run by two people who know exactly what a visitor is looking for and being a keen traveller herself, Alice knows exactly what is needed to make her guests happy. The rooms, albeit Victorian in their design, as it was a rector home previously, are well sized, warm, comfortable and have amazing views over Musselburgh Racecourse. The breakfast is a continental affair, but believe me, there’s more than enough food to set you up for a days sightseeing!
