Review

Named after the legendary aviators John Alcock and Arthur Brown, who completed the first transatlantic flight in 1919 from Newfoundland to Clifden, the Alcock & Brown Hotel pays tribute to their achievement in both name and spirit. This family-run hotel offers cosy accommodation with everything you need for a comfortable stay in Connemara. The team here are exceptionally welcoming, always on hand to ensure your visit is stress-free and enjoyable. In the summer months, their in-house restaurant serves a carefully curated menu, perfect for guests who want to relax after a day of exploring. Clifden’s an ideal base from which to explore the region, but don’t expect to see all of Connemara just in a day, this breathtaking part of Ireland deserves a longer stay.
