Review

My stay at the Wild Meadow Huts in County Clare was nothing short of tranquility. Perched amidst the breathtaking landscapes of the West Coast of Ireland, this family-owned haven offers an intimate retreat from the hustle and bustle of everyday life. The attention to detail in each meticulously furnished hut reflects a commitment to excellence, creating an ambiance that oozes warmth and comfort, and I have to say, I had one of the best night’s sleep I’ve ever had. The Pièce de resistance undoubtedly is the Japanese Oforu Hot Tub for two people. It offers privacy, relaxation, the opportunity to connect and mesmerising stargazing.. As the stars twinkle overhead, casting a cosmic glow over the horizon, the magic of Wild Meadow unfolds. It’s a place where time stands still, and for those seeking a romantic rendezvous with nature, Wild Meadow Huts is an enchanting haven that etches everlasting memories.

Burren Smokehouse

Lisdoonvarna is one of Co. Clare’s liveliest towns and few places capture its energy quite like the award winning Burren Smokehouse. I was honoured to spend time with founders Birgitta and Peter Curtin, whose passion has turned this family-run business into a world-class operation.

McGann’s Pub

Doolin is at the heart of Co. Clare’s trad scene and McGann’s Pub is exactly the kind of place you hope to find in a famous seaside village. I never hand-pick restaurants for my books; that job goes to local accommodation providers, because they know where visitors are best looked after.
