Eating Out

Review

Doolin is at the heart of Co. Clare’s trad scene and McGann’s Pub is exactly the kind of place you hope to find in a famous seaside village. I never hand-pick restaurants for my books; that job goes to local accommodation providers, because they know where visitors are best looked after. I do however visit every single one, and once you step inside McGann’s, it is easy to see why it’s popular. Sheila and Dermot have proudly carried the torch from the McGann Brothers, who bought the pub in 1975, and the tradition of warm hospitality is alive and well. Expect honest, delicious food, a friendly team, and a true Irish atmosphere where live music can spark into life at any moment for locals and visitors.
