The Wicklow Heather Restaurant in Laragh has always been a favourite of mine, but under new ownership, it has reached new heights. Now managed by the talented team behind the world famous and iconic Durty Nelly’s in Bunratty, Co. Clare, the Wicklow Heather has elevated its reputation from a great restaurant to one of my coveted “Hidden Gem Attractions.” With over 50 years of history, this establishment has long been a haven for visitors worldwide, offering an authentic taste of Ireland in every bite. The new custodians’ commitment to quality and innovation is evident in every detail, from the warm hospitality to the impeccable menu. The dishes burst with locally sourced flavours, capturing the true essence of Ireland. While the Wicklow Heather has always been a gem, its future shines even brighter now.
