Clara Lara is an unique outdoor adventure Park dedicated to providing healthy and creative fun for families and groups of children. 30 acres of beautiful countryside in the Avonmore River valley with tree houses, tarzan swings, rope bridges, rowing boats, water slides, rafts, canoes, junior go-carts, B.B.Q.s, mini golf, picnic areas, a restaurant and lots more. The lakes are all man made with a flat gravel bottom and approximately 3 feet deep. It is ideal for children and a great day out for groups up to the age of 13 years. The park is suitable for young families. However, older children are welcome to visit with younger siblings. We do not admit large groups of children over the age of 13 years, e.g. Summer Camps, Clubs etc.

Review

Upon visiting this attraction here in County Wicklow, one could be forgiven for thinking you were in the wilds of Canada. My job as a travel author is made all the more easier by attractions like Clara Lara Fun Park. For three decades this attraction has been providing family fun right in the heart of Co. Wicklow and it is clear to see that the management here’s main focus is that of their visitors. I visited here in the summer of 2016 and although the place was really busy and the staff were run off their feet, they all had beaming smiles on their faces. Yes, this is a place primarily for children, but don’t be fooled, I couldn’t help but notice how much fun the mums and dads were having too. To sum everything up, this attraction has very much earned its Top 100 ‘Family Fun’ hidden gem award, but don’t take my word for it, visit them yourself and I guarantee you won’t be disappointed.
