Turoe Pet Farm
Review
Turoe Petting Farm, near Loughrea, Co. Galway, is a true hidden gem, offering an exceptional family-friendly experience. Since its opening in 1993 by Mary Corcoran and her late husband Paddy, the farm has continuously evolved, maintaining its charm while expanding its offerings. This family-owned park, now led by their son David, has gone from strength to strength, making it a worthy entry in the Top 100 Attractions on the island of Ireland now for a second time. The park is even better than my first visit, with delightful animals, well-maintained facilities, and exciting new plans in the pipeline. The visitor experience is unparalleled, blending engaging activities with excellent value for money. The welcoming atmosphere and the evident passion of the Corcoran family make every visit memorable. I eagerly anticipate my third trip to see how the park continues to grow and innovate, providing joy and lasting memories for all ages.

The New Park Hotel, in the world-famous medieval town of Athenry, is a wonderful example of boutique accommodation done properly, without fuss or pretension. Having previously endorsed its restaurant in my last Island of Ireland edition, I am delighted to see the same care reflected in its accommodation. With just ten bedrooms, a stay here feels personal, relaxed and genuinely welcoming.
