The North Pole Bar & Guesthouse
Review
The North Pole Bar in Drumfree is one of those Inishowen pubs that feels instantly familiar. Family run for around six decades, it is now Hilda McLaughlin’s turn to carry the baton, continuing a story that began when her grandparents bought the bar in the 1960s. Back then, customers could order a pint inside and fill up with fuel from the petrol pumps outside. Today, Hilda and her family have brought this much-loved landmark into the present, while preserving its warmth, character and sense of community. Three guest rooms sit above the bar, with a fantastic breakfast served to residents each morning. Food may not be the main attraction here, but atmosphere certainly is. Everyone is welcomed at this iconic Wild Atlantic Way pit stop.

The three guest bedrooms above the bar are bright, comfortable and thoughtfully presented, offering everything needed for a relaxing overnight stay without an expensive price tag. Clean finishes, cosy beds and a welcoming atmosphere make the rooms an excellent choice for couples, solo travellers or anyone exploring the Wild Atlantic Way.
