Perfectly positioned between Gretna Green and Stranraer, the Inn on the Loch is one of Dumfries and Galloway’s brightest hidden gems. Family owned and lovingly run by Helen and Steve Bean, alongside their daughter Ella, it has the warmth and personality of somewhere created with genuine passion. Overlooking the picture-postcard Auchenreoch Loch, the setting is wonderfully peaceful, with water, woodland and open skies adding a gentle sense of romance. The lodges are among the finest examples of luxury accommodation I have seen in this region for quite some time, combining comfort, style and beautiful surroundings. Yet the appeal extends far beyond an overnight stay, as the food alone provides an excellent reason to visit. This is a family who clearly believes that anything worth doing is worth doing properly. With superb hospitality, impressive value and a location that stays in the memory, the Inn on the Loch comes highly recommended.
