Review
The Coast Lodge at Spanish Point is one of only a handful of places I’ve chosen to both sleep and eat in Co. Clare and this is the second time it’s made the cut. Owned and run by the very friendly Alex and Irina, this small coastal hideaway puts everything into making sure your stay is one to remember. Perched just across the road from the beach, you’re literally a stone’s throw from the Atlantic Ocean. The four guest rooms here are modern, fresh and named after the local area, while the two fully furnished apartments are perfect for those longer stays. I take my accommodation choices very seriously and the Coast Lodge absolutely deserves its place in this book for anyone exploring this coastline.
FOOD FOR THOUGHT
The Coast Lodge here at Spanish Point is once again one of my chosen few places to sleep and eat in Co. Clare, and when you visit you’ll instantly see why. Here, Alex & Irina have created somewhere very special. Not only do they have a selection of rooms and apartments, they're wonderful restaurant champions local produce, with the very best seasonal vegetables and sparkling-fresh fish delivered daily, cooked from scratch with real care. Their fresh, home-cooked pizzas are a real highlight and perfect for something a little more casual. There’s also a handy takeaway if you just want something on the hoof. Best of all is eating seafood here while gazing out across the Atlantic is an experience that lingers long after you leave.
