Review

The Bull Inn, here in the Medieval Suffolk village of Woolpit, close to Bury St Edmunds, is everything a proper country inn should be. Your hosts, Paul and Darren have been welcoming guests here for the past decade, and their warmth is felt from the moment you arrive. For romantic couples seeking comfort, character and a genuinely relaxed escape, The Bull delivers beautifully. This is a traditional hostelry at heart, serving the kind of comforting dishes you hope to find in a country pub, but with a quality that lifts everything several levels higher. The team are friendly and attentive, but not overly so, which adds to the easy charm of the place. To the rear, a handful of beautifully furnished rooms offer boutique comfort without any pretension. Dogs are welcome in the bar and conservatory, making The Bull wonderfully inclusive, while still keeping the bedrooms and restaurant totally peaceful.

Jimmy’s Farm & Wildlife Park

Jimmy’s Farm & Wildlife Park is one of Suffolk’s most rewarding family attractions, and its national recognition is richly deserved. Owned and run by TV Personalities Jimmy Doherty and his wife Michaela, it has been crowned England’s best tourism attraction after being judged alongside around 1,800 destinations. During my visit, the polar bears were an unforgettable highlight, roaming through their huge three-lake enclosure,

Easton Farm Park

Easton Farm Park really is one of Suffolk’s true family attractions, a hugely established farm park that has been welcoming visitors since long before farm parks became the popular days out they are today. Proudly family owned, it has that rare sense of history, warmth and genuine care running through every corner. The animals are, of course, the stars of the show, with a wonderful variety to meet, each looking happy,
