There’s a hearty welcome waiting for you when you visit the 16th Century, Grade II listed building; The Black Lion. This lovely, comfortable pub serves well priced, fabulous fresh food, including specials and a separate vegan menu, with real ales, excellent wines and a chilled, friendly atmosphere. Situated in the hamlet of Derwenlas, in northern Powys, the Black Lion has retained many of its original features such as black beams, thick, textured walls, slate flagstones and the flickering golden glow from a real fire, which envelops the pub with a cosy warmth. Just as warm and inviting is the fab team who treat their customers as welcome guests, serving food and drinks in a polite and professional manner.
