Roscommon Equestrian Centre
Review
Sitting at the foot of the magnificent Slieve Bawn Mountain, close to the River Shannon, the Roscommon Equestrian Centre enjoys a setting that immediately makes an impression. Family owned and proudly run by the Kelly family, there is a warmth here that gives the centre a wonderfully personal feel. What impressed me most was just how professionally everything operates. Riders of all ages and abilities are welcomed, from complete beginners through to those with considerably more experience, and everyone is made to feel completely at ease. The knowledgeable team are fully qualified, experienced first aiders and clearly passionate about what they do. Just as importantly, the horses are beautifully cared for and remarkably friendly; I could quite happily have spent the entire day with them. Horses are such wonderful animals, and their wellbeing is clearly paramount here. It’s to understand why this Equestrian Centre has earned recognition among Ireland’s leading riding centres.

Hannons Hotel
I take great pride in choosing the accommodation that earns my endorsement, and Hannon’s Hotel is certainly worthy of its place. Family-run and conveniently located on the outskirts of Roscommon town, it provides an excellent base for exploring Co. Roscommon and the neighbouring counties.

Rogue & Co
It is always a pleasure to return to a business I’ve endorsed previously and find it going from strength to strength, and Rogue & Co. is a perfect example. Brothers Ricky and James O’Gara, together with other members of the family, have poured their heart and soul into creating what I now consider one of the finest cafés in the region.

Gleesons Roscommon
Having featured Gleesons Roscommon in my book previously, I was really looking forward to returning, and it was a pleasure to catch up once again with owner Eamonn Gleeson. What struck me most was that his enthusiasm and genuine passion for the place remain every bit as strong as I remembered.

Arch House B&B
This B&B is fantastic! A family run Guest House with a modern twist, it feels like a home away from home. The hosts, Eileen and Trevor, are ever so friendly and welcoming.

The Rustic Inn
The Rustic Inn in Abbeyshrule is one of those rare family-run businesses that feels woven into the fabric of the local community. More than simply a pub, it is an institution, and after visiting, I was genuinely taken aback by just how much this welcoming venue has to offer. Whether you are cruising along
