The award-winning and utterly enchanting Medieval Museum in Waterford City: reveals the shimmering, bejewelled history of a time long since past. Visitors can explore and experience the centuries old vaults, which lie hidden, deep beneath the building, right in the heart of Waterford’s Viking Triangle. The five museums in the Viking Triangle consist of: The Medieval Museum, Bishop’s Palace, The Irish Museum of Time, The Irish Museum and Christ Church Cathedral Waterford’s Medieval Museum is Ireland’s only purpose-built medieval museum, and is the only building on the island that possesses two medieval chambers, the 13th century Chrorister’s Hall, and the 15th century Mayors Wine Vault. Visitors can view rare and wondrous treasures such as; Heavens Embroidered Cloths, King Henry VIII’s ‘Cap of Maintenance’, plus many more incredible artefacts.
