Loop Head Walking Tours is the passion project of Martin Haugh, the gentleman behind Kilkee’s popular Stella Maris Hotel and it shows. A butcher turned hotelier, Martin brings the same care and craft to guiding as he does to hospitality. His routes thread through coves, cliff-top paths and quiet boreens you’d rarely find alone, unlocking stories of fishing, farming and folklore along the way. What elevates these walks is local knowledge: tides, winds, wildflowers, seabirds and safe vantage points for those sweeping Atlantic views. Pace is relaxed, the chat is easy, and detours appear like gifts, an ancient well here, a sea stack there, a tale of storm and salvation to stitch it together. You feel looked after and, more importantly, welcomed. Loop Head is studded with hidden gems; with Martin leading, you don’t just see them, you understand them. A memorable, authentic way to truly know this remarkable peninsula.
