Kylemore Abbey & Victorian Walled Garden
Review
For lovers of history, romance, glorious architecture and all things delightful – a visit to Kylemore Abbey and Victorian Walled Garden has to be at the very top of your list. This breath-taking Abbey overlooking a sparkling lake started out life as a castle in 1868, and is now home to the Benedictine Order of nuns. It is easy to see why this is one of Ireland’s most prized attractions, as it has so very much to offer. Explore the history, the Victorian interiors and exquisite walled garden. Amble along the nature and woodland trails, attend talks, or just visit one of the two special eateries on site whether for a meal or a tea treat. For children there is an enchanting Fairy Village, Connemara Ponies and rare pet piggies. There is even a shop brimming with gifts and beauty products made on site. A feast for the eyes, the heart and the stomach.
