Review
Having been recommended Kirkcudbright Dark Space Planetarium by another planetarium, I wanted to discover what all the fuss was about, and it certainly lived up to expectations. In this peaceful corner of Dumfries & Galloway, Kirkcudbright proves that sleepy towns can still hold extraordinary surprises. Housed in a former school, the knowledgeable team adore sharing their fascination with space, bringing distant planets, stars and galaxies vividly to life. The interactive exhibits are superb, encouraging visitors of all ages to become curious, ask questions and look beyond our own world. However, the planetarium show was the true highlight, delivering an immersive experience that blew my mind. Even as I prepared to leave, there was one final surprise: an astonishing view of the sun through the centre’s high-tech telescope. Offering excellent value, genuine passion and unforgettable moments, this is an attraction that leaves you eager to learn far more about the universe.
