Review

County Kildare is full of surprises, and Kildare Maze & Family Activity Park is surely one of its most enjoyable. Wonderfully affordable and refreshingly wholesome, it offers families the chance to spend real quality time together in the great outdoors. Children quickly forget about their phones and tablets once the funs begun. From the impressive Main Hedge Maze to the wooden maze, crazy golf, obstacle course and ever-popular zip wire, there’s something here to delight a wide range of ages. It is the kind of attraction that brings laughter, energy and togetherness in equal measure. A visit here feels honest, uncomplicated and full of fun. As opening times vary through the year, it is always wise to check their website and social media before travelling.

Lawlor’s of Naas

Lawlor’s of Naas is, in my opinion, one of the most distinctive hotels of its kind anywhere on the island of Ireland. For a book centred on romantic destinations, it fits beautifully, though this is a place with genuine appeal for guests of every age. Open for well over a century,

Harbour Hotel & Restaurant

Monaghan’s Harbour Hotel & Restaurant in Naas, is the sort of honest, no-fuss accommodation that quietly gets everything right. Founded over three decades ago by the charismatic Mary Monaghan, the property still carries her hallmark of true professionalism, even though she is sadly no longer with us.

Wrights Anglers Rest

Wrights Anglers Rest, sitting on the edge of Dublin’s iconic Phoenix Park, is the kind of place that instantly captures the imagination. This is no ordinary pub; it is a near 200 year old treasure where history seems to cling lovingly to every wall, beam and corner. Originally built as a hotel, i

MJ Wright’s is the kind of Dublin pub that reminds you why the capital’s hospitality scene is so admired. Family owned and run, this historic corner pub feels like a heartfelt tribute to old Dublin, where character, atmosphere and pride in place shine through at every turn.

Treacy’s Bar & Restaurant

Just a short hop off the M7 between Dublin and Limerick, Treacy’s Bar & Restaurant is the kind of stop that proves the best places are still family-run. Nearly 250 years in the same family is no small feat, and you feel that heritage the moment you walk in
