Harbour Hotel & Restaurant
Review
Monaghan’s Harbour Hotel & Restaurant in Naas, is the sort of honest, no-fuss accommodation that quietly gets everything right. Founded over three decades ago by the charismatic Mary Monaghan, the property still carries her hallmark of true professionalism, even though she is sadly no longer with us. Today, Mary’s legacy lives on through her daughters, Mary and Josephine, who have taken the reins and maintained that warm, family-run spirit. Bedrooms are cosy, comfortable and great value, making this a superb base for exploring the area without paying extortionate Dublin City prices. Add in genuinely friendly staff who go above and beyond, and you have a hotel that delivers exactly what most travellers want: a welcoming stay, a good night’s sleep, and service with real heart.
FOOD FOR THOUGHT
Food here in the Monaghan’s Harbour Hotel, is rooted in the warm legacy of the late Mary Monaghan, who opened this much-loved place over three decades ago. Today her daughters, Mary and Josephine, keep that same no-nonsense professionalism alive, and it shows on the plate. While the restaurant doesn’t serve evening meals, you’re pretty much spoilt for choice in Naas. They do however offer an amazing lunchtime menu, where the food on offer is hearty, comforting and keenly priced, but it’s the Sunday Lunch that steals the show. Generous portions, proper gravy, and flavours that feel like home. Breakfasts deserve special mention too: freshly cooked, locally sourced where possible, and served with a smile. It’s easy to see why locals eat here, time and time again.
