Review

Kells Bay House & Gardens is a truly special place, and having now endorsed it for the second time, returning here was an absolute pleasure. Privately owned since 2006 by husband-and-wife team Billy and Penn Alexander, this remarkable garden is the result of real passion, vision and endless hard work. In my professional opinion, they have created one of Ireland’s finest garden attractions. Overlooking beautiful Kells Bay, the setting feels almost exotic, yet you are firmly on Kerry’s rugged and breathtaking west coast. That contrast is part of its magic. It is also worth noting that visitors can now stay here and enjoy food in the popular restaurant, making the experience even more complete. The team are warm, attentive and clearly proud of what has been achieved here and so they should. Kells Bay perfectly captures “Same Country, Different World.” I love it here, and I am sure you will too.

The Boatyard Restaurant

Some places linger long after dessert; The Boatyard is one of them. In Dingle’s working harbour, owner Gavin O’Grady leads a bright, unflappable team who treat hospitality like a craft. Plates celebrate the tide: gleaming oysters, crackling-skinned hake, chowder fragrant with dill, fish landed yards

D O'Sheas Bar

There are Irish bars all over the world, probably more out of Ireland, than there are in Ireland, but here at D’O’shea’s Bar & Restaurant in the picture perfect village of Sneem, this is the model they all model themselves on.
