There are Irish bars all over the world, probably more out of Ireland, than there are in Ireland, but here at D’O’shea’s Bar & Restaurant in the picture perfect village of Sneem, this is the model they all model themselves on. Family run, wholesome cooked food and the best quality of drinks around, not forgetting the craic, are all things that make a pub a true Irish pub. Mary & Garbhan Kavanagh have been running this award winning pub since 1996 and they’re not the first book I’ve featured them in, the first was my Top 100 Attractions on the island of Ireland book and the good quality has never slipped since then. Do you feel that you already know this pub? That’s probably because it’s one of the most photographed pubs in Ireland. But remember this, a trip to Co. Kerry is not complete without a trip to D’O’Shea’s!
