Johnstown Castle, Estate, Museum & Gardens
Review
Johnstown Castle, Estate, Museum & Gardens is without doubt one of Ireland’s brightest jewels and now, thanks to the leadership of General Manager Matt Wheeler, it’s shining brighter than ever. I endorsed this Wexford gem in a previous edition of my Top 100 Attractions on the Island of Ireland book, and upon returning, I was amazed at just how much it has evolved. A state-of-the-art visitor centre now welcomes guests to a world of history, beauty, and discovery. From enchanting lakes and landscaped gardens to the ever-popular Irish Agricultural Museum and the newly available castle tours, there’s something for everyone to enjoy. The whole experience is elevated by the friendly and knowledgeable team, who go above and beyond to ensure every visit is memorable. With a fantastic café serving quality food and a gift shop packed with treasures, Johnstown Castle has firmly secured its place as one of Ireland’s top attractions.
