During a recent visit to the Headfort Arms Hotel in the historic town of Kells, I was fortunate to receive a guided tour from Olivia, one of the family owners. This tour revealed that, while the hotel is officially rated four stars, it offers a truly five-star experience. The rooms are spacious and comfortable, exuding a luxurious feel that seems to come as standard. A unique highlight is their artisan distillery, producing the award-winning 'Kells Gin,' a beloved choice among locals and guests. The hotel’s food offerings are exceptional, with three diverse dining options within the hotel and the award-winning Vanilla Pod restaurant next door.
