Hidden in plain sight in Navan, The Zone has been delighting locals and day-trippers for almost two decades and it shows. Step inside this “Tardis” of activity and the space keeps unfolding: owners Finbarr and Linda have shaped one of Ireland’s best indoor activity centres, where energy and welcome come as standard. Their new inflatable obstacle course would leave even TV’s Gladiators bamboozled, equal parts hilarious and heroic. Then there’s the thrilling indoor karting arena, marshalled and well maintained, where friendly rivalries are settled lap by lap to the finish line. Younger visitors are as well catered for, with plenty of options that let everyone join the fun without breaking the bank. Staff are upbeat, safety-minded and quick with tips so you get the most from every minute. Be warned, though: The Zone is gloriously moreish, plan for a full day, not “just a couple of hours.” You’ll thank me later.
