Review

Hazel Tree Lodge is a purpose-built haven that captures exactly what Top 100 Attractions celebrates: quality, comfort, and smart design. The owners have clearly spared no expense; rooms are beautifully finished, thoughtful in layout, and stocked with everything you need for a genuinely restful stay. Base yourself here to explore Co. Wexford, one of Ireland’s best-kept secrets, with beaches, heritage sites, and charming towns all within easy reach. Golfers and food lovers are especially spoiled. The neighbouring Bunclody Golf & Fishing Club rivals many of Ireland’s headline courses, and its impressive clubhouse makes an excellent spot for lunch or dinner. After a day on the fairways or rivers, return to peace and polish. Bunclody village itself is on the up, giving Co. Limerick’s famous ‘Adare Village’ a run for its money, offering lively pubs, friendly locals, and great value. Stay here for half the price and, possibly, twice the fun.

1798 Rebellion Centre

This is the second time I have endorsed the 1798 Rebellion Centre in my Irish book and once visited, you’ll know exactly why. On many occasions, when I revisit an attraction, nothing much has changed, however here, even though the narrative remains

Tinahely Farm 1

Tinahely Farm - Restaurant & Play Barn

Tinahely Farm, Restaurant, and Play Barn is a hidden gem that exceeds expectations. Highly recommended by many, I did my research, but nothing prepared me for the experience of actually visiting. The farm shop is a treasure trove of artisan foods, handmade crafts, and Rebecca’s exquisite handmade china.

O’Connor’s Bar & Lounge

O’Connor’s Bar & Lounge in Tinahely is more than just a good pub, it’s a great one, and there is a real difference. From the moment you step inside, their friendly team makes you feel right at home. Despite me arriving just as the kitchen was closing, they still managed to prepare a delicious meal
