Glenroe Farm
Glenroe Open Pet Farm in Wicklow is a family-run farm which offers hours of fun and relaxation for all the family. Since it opened to the public the farm has welcomed thousands of families from all over the country and beyond who come to enjoy the peace and tranquillity of the beautiful Wicklow countryside. At Glenroe Open Farm the kids can feed and get up close to a wide variety of farm animals and pets, including Sika deer, sheep, lambs, cattle, pigs, goats, ducks, geese, turkeys, peacocks, hens and chicks. Pets’ Corner is where the young and curious visitors can hold and pet their favourite furry animals such as rabbits, gerbils, guinea pigs and chipmunks. Overlooking the open farm is a well-equipped playground suitable for toddlers and children up to 12 year olds. An indoor area is designated for wildlife education and here you can learn more about the animals and birds that live on the farm.
Review
Once the filming location of a popular Irish TV show, Glenroe has been in the hearts of the Irish people for almost two decades, and with plenty to see and lots to do, I guarantee you’ll not be
disappointed with your visit here. Glenroe is a family run attraction and has been in the family for decades and whether you are coming to see the wide selection of animals, or to meander around the nature trail, there is plenty of fun to be had here. I would leave at least three to four hours to see everything here at the farm and with a great cafe, whether you’ve brought a pack lunch or not, they serve great coffee! All in all a trip here to Glenroe farm is a really enjoyable one and is also a piece of Irish history rolled into one! A huge Top 100 thumbs up to John, Theresa and the Toner family for creating a really great Irish visitor attraction.
