Foxford Woollen Mills

Tour the working mill, where master craftspeople are at work on the pieces that Foxford are proud to deliver to excited customers all over the world. Watch as techniques passed down through generations are used to create contemporary designs.

The award winning Foxford Woollen Mills Visitor Centre has welcomed more than a quarter of a million visitors since it opened in 1992. It begins with a self guide multimedia tour of the origins of the mill in the late 1800's. Visitors are taken right through the working mill as it is run today, where they can see first-hand the mastery of tradition, design and craftsmanship that goes into every single Irish made Foxford product. There is also a chance to enjoy our gourmet cafe and peruse the treasure trove of gifts in the bright and airy Foxford store. And best of all, the award winning tour is completely free of charge!

Ireland is famous for its woollen products and for centuries has produced items that have gone all over the world from the Taj Mahal in India to the White House in America. Some would say this tradition spanning a thousand years is slowing down, and although yes, there are mills closing down throughout Ireland and the United Kingdom, looms here at the Foxford Woollen Mill haven't ran faster. The reason for this, is because they have constantly and wisely kept up with the trends and they just know what works and doesn't work. When you visit here, not only can you purchase items from their popular shop, you can also go on their Working Mill Tour that believe it or not is completely free! They also have a great modern cuisine cafe and restaurant where you can either just grab a coffee and cake or indulge yourself in one of their delicious hot food dishes.

However, my stay at the Ocean Sands Hotel & Spa has ensured it won't be my last. This hotel, perched elegantly on the coast, offers a blend of comfort, luxury, and stunning views that make for an unforgettable experience.
