Ferryport House Bed & Breakfast

Accommodation

Review

This charming bed & breakfast is located in a picturesque part of Co Wexford and is a fantastic place to spend a few relaxing nights. In the heart of one of Ireland’s most beautiful areas, walk into this 3-star accommodation and enjoy the peaceful surroundings. It truly feels like a home-away-from-home. Ideal for families, it is also a great place for couples, business travellers, or groups. It is so spacious, and the team goes the extra mile to make sure all guests are looked after. The owner, Sue, is ever so friendly and helpful. All the rooms are spotlessly clean and have impeccable amenities. The breakfast is very tasty, so do not leave without having tried it! The coffee is one of the best in the area. An added bonus is the incredible Italian restaurant next door. Serving the best of Sicilian food. Foodies absolutely love it here.

Johnstown Castle, Estate, Museum & Gardens

Johnstown Castle, Estate, Museum & Gardens is without doubt one of Ireland’s brightest jewels and now, thanks to the leadership of General Manager Matt Whelar, it’s shining brighter than ever. I endorsed this Wexford gem in a previous edition of my Top 100 Attractions on the Island of Ireland book,

The Kilrane Inn is a pub with a wonderful sense of place and a food offering that fully deserves its return to my restaurant section and i’m sure it won’t be the last. Known proudly as both the first and last pub here in Ireland, its location makes it ideal for anyone travelling to or from Rosslare Europort, as well as those exploring the wider beauty of Co. Mary Barrys Bar Restaurant 1

Mary Barrys Bar & Restaurant

Mary Barry’s Seafood Bar & Restaurant, on the outskirts of Kilmore Quay, is a pub and dining destination I was genuinely delighted to return to after first endorsing it nine years ago. Expectations were high, but what Susie Doyle and her husband Alec have achieved here is exceptional. In my opinion, Mary Barry’s is now the finest pub in Co. Wexford, and fully deserving of our rare Iconic Status.
