Your hosts are Lucy & Matthew Redman who are ably assisted by Manager Paul McDougal and staff Sophie & Lucy have lived in the Lake District all their lives and have a wealth of catering experience, and local knowledge.

Guests at Elder Grove often comment on the”friendly home from home, relaxing atmosphere where we try to give a little more than a traditional B & B . The house itself is a distinct, detached Lakeland building, built in the late 1800’s and still retaining many original features but with all the convenience of today’s contemporary living.

The breakfast is a must at Elder Grove we hope you will also enjoy a special start to the day , our guests often commenting “its the best breakfast we’ve ever had” “what a choice” “thank you for the lovely food” . Putting the ‘Breakfast’ into Bed and Breakfast is the priority to the start of every day ~ with your choice of cooked breakfast or lighter bites, locally sourced products and plenty of home made jams & marmalade’s, all prepared sourced by Paul then prepared and cooked fresh for you each morning giving everyone the perfect start to their day.

The house is over 4 floors and offers a combination of rooms all en-suite with bath and shower in the bathrooms with 2 rooms having King size double beds and 2 with zip and link beds offering a combination of twin or king size doubles, 2 standard double rooms a 2 spacious rooms one with a Victorian canopy double bed and the other with a modern four poster double bed & 2 single rooms descriptions and pictures can be found in the drop down boxes.

Set in the heart of the Lake District, Elder Grove has easy access to the town of Ambleside, with the center being only 5 minutes walk. Ambleside is ideal for access to other parts of the Lake District such as Keswick, Windermere and Coniston. Our parking now offers an electric car charging point.

We offer a discounted winter (mid Nov to Mid March) tariff. Rates for 2 nights midweek starting from £30 pppn (minimum stay) or 3 night Weekend breaks starting from £110 pp for bookings made directly over the telephone.
