Review

Drumnalaught Cottage in Co. Cavan is an absolute gem. I arrived with high expectations, having seen the incredible reviews, but I still wasn’t prepared for just how good it is. Greeted at the door by twin sisters Mary & Bridie, smart in their Drumnalaught Cottage branded attire, I instantly felt I’d known them for years. Their warmth and professionalism immediately melt away any travel fatigue that you may have. The whole house is super modern, spotless and thoughtfully designed, with bedrooms that have everything you need for a perfect stay. I loved the well-equipped kitchen and the clever self-service breakfast setup, you manage breakfast, it doesn’t manage you. Drumnalaught Cottage is, without doubt, one of the best B&Bs in Cavan and I highly recommend it.

Cavan County Museum

The Cavan County Museum in Ballyjamesduff is, quite simply, outstanding. Just twelve miles from Cavan town, it’s housed in the former Poor Clare’s Convent, a characterful building dating back to 1872 that still showcases many original features. Inside, you’ll discover one of Ireland’s great museum hidden gems.

The Happy Cup Cafe

The Happy Cup Cafe in the quaint town of Oldcastle, Co. Cavan, is an absolute delight. Owners Laura and Gintaras have spent years perfecting what they do, and in their new, larger premises you can really see it shine. With their wings finally unclipped, they now bake all their own breads,
