Domes by the Sea

AccommodationRomance

Review

There is something wonderfully romantic about escaping to Domes by the Sea, a family-run glamping retreat just a few miles from the colourful harbour town of Kirkcudbright. These custom-built domes offer far more than a night away; they provide a luxurious hideaway where comfort, privacy and thoughtful detail come as standard. Inside, every element feels considered, creating a warm and inviting space in which couples can slow down, switch off and enjoy precious time together. Outside, the peaceful Dumfries and Galloway countryside adds a sense of magic, with wide skies, coastal scenery and quiet moments never far away. Having visited many glamping sites across Scotland, I can say this feels refreshingly different. Domes by the Sea combines the charm of outdoor living with the indulgence of a boutique escape, making it a base for exploring the region or simply staying put and savouring the setting.

Having been recommended Kirkcudbright Dark Space Planetarium by another planetarium, I wanted to discover what all the fuss was about, and it certainly lived up to expectations. Ernespie Farm

Ernespie Farm, just outside the market town of Castle Douglas, is one of those places that leaves a far bigger impression than you might expect. The McMiken family have created a wonderful visitor attraction while continuing to work the dairy farm that has been part of their lives for generations. There is plenty here to keep younger visitors happy, from indoor play and outdoor activities to tractor rides
