Visit Catalyst Science Discovery Centre and see science and technology really come to life in our three award winning galleries. Scientrific on the ground floor is a hands-on, interactive gallery for the whole family. Birth of an Industry on the first floor houses the museum element of the centre supported by an amazing collection of archive material and life-like reconstructions. The rooftop Observatory gallery affords stunning views from the Welsh hills to the Pennines and is accessed by the wonderful scenic glass lift which reaches 30 metres above the River Mersey. Enhance your visit with an unforgettable journey of discovery in our Alchemy Theatre. Interactive films with 3D and individual voting makes each showing unique! During term time we specialise in curriculum based activities for schools but during the holidays the whole family can join in our special hands-on workshops. Science has never been so much fun!

Catalyst really did impress me, not only as science discovery centre, but also as an attraction that is interesting on so many levels. There is so much to see and do here, things that are science related, and some things that just simply get the mind racing. The museum part of Catalyst I found most intriguing, I loved the way that local science related businesses have had a hand in a lot of the exhibits. Also the location for this site couldn't be more poignant, as it overlooks some of the many companies that play a huge part in our scientific future. With free car parking, a great café, and an outdoor play area this attraction really does have everything that we look for in a Top 100 Attraction.
