Burren Visitor Centre
Review
Kilfenora oozes heritage from every single building, and the Burren Visitor Centre is the perfect starting point for soaking it all in. This is Father Ted territory too, and if you know the show, you’ll absolutely love spotting the familiar filming streets, I know I did. Step inside and the welcome is instant; the team make everyone feel genuinely at home. Helpful tips on walks, wildlife and events come freely, as if you’re chatting with neighbours. There’s loads to explore, from the spirited Kilfenora Céilí Band display to the important Burren Exhibition, and the best part is that admission is completely free. Afterwards, linger in the Tea Room for breakfast, light bites, or a slice of something sweet with a proper cup of tea. Don’t leave without booking a village tour: witty, informative and packed with local nuggets, it brings the stories, characters and culture of Co. Clare to life.

The Station House B&B in Ennistymon really does win you over from the moment you arrive. In the same family for decades, it’s now under the thoughtful custodianship of the previous owners son, Nicholas Cahill and his wife Kathleen, who carry the torch with absolute pride.
