Falls Hotel & Spa
Review
The Falls Hotel & Spa really does remain one of my proudest repeat endorsements in my Top 100 Attractions on the Island of Ireland book. When rewriting the guide, including it again was effortless. This is far more than just a beautiful hotel with tastefully furnished rooms and superb dining in the Dylan Thomas Bar and Cascades Restaurant; it is a place with real soul. Set in truly stunning surroundings, the property blends warm hospitality with a deep sense of history. Long before it became the charming destination guests enjoy today, it was Ennistymon House, home to notable families from as far back as 1712, including the O’Briens. Later, the Macnamara’s helped give it lasting cultural fame through Caitlin Macnamara’s marriage to the legendary Welsh poet Dylan Thomas. For heritage, comfort, food, and atmosphere, Falls Hotel & Spa is a genuine hidden gem and truly unforgettable on every single visit.

Kilfenora oozes heritage from every single building, and the Burren Visitor Centre is the perfect starting point for soaking it all in. This is Father Ted territory too, and if you know the show, you’ll absolutely love spotting the familiar filming streets, I know I did.

Just minutes from the Cliffs of Moher, Moher Hill Petting Zoo & Leisure Park is a joyful, family-run attraction I’m proud to endorse for the second time. Across rolling fields and tidy paddocks, you’ll meet a wonderfully eclectic menagerie of llamas and alpacas, emus and mischievous raccoons,
