Breaffy House Resort
Review
Having previously endorsed Breaffy House Resort in this Island of Ireland book, I returned with high expectations and they were not only met but exceeded. No expense has been spared in the stunning refurbishment, and the inside matches the grandeur you feel driving up the impressive driveway. The selection of rooms is superb, each one thoughtfully designed and furnished to a very high standard, reflecting the owners' unwavering commitment to quality. The state-of-the-art spa and health club are truly first class, complemented by a host of wonderful facilities that ensure every guest feels pampered. Breaffy House Resort has managed to retain its welcoming atmosphere while elevating the guest experience even further. Quite honestly, with everything on offer here, you may find yourself reluctant to leave!
FOOD FOR THOUGHT
The food offerings here at the Breaffy House Resort are truly impressive. While “locally sourced” is a phrase often overused, here it’s a commitment taken seriously, and it shines through in every bite. Whether you’re enjoying a formal dining experience at the Mulberry Restaurant or a more relaxed meal in their Healy Mac’s bar, the quality and care are nearly indistinguishable, both are outstanding. Breakfasts are a real highlight, drawing even non-residents to the resort’s doors, and their Afternoon Tea is fast becoming one of the area's must-try experiences. Breaffy has genuinely raised the bar in the region, offering fresh, thoughtful dishes in beautiful surroundings. Their attention to detail and passion for local produce make every meal feel special, from morning coffee to evening celebrations.

Foxford
Foxford Woollen Mill is a perennial favourite in my Top 100 Attractions on the Island of Ireland book, and with good reason, I’ve endorsed it twice already. Established in 1892, this Mayo icon has delivered craftsmanship and innovation for over 130 years, never standing still while others tread water.
