Once a renowned fishing-tackle shop, its walls are now a gallery of reels, rods and faded photographs that spark stories from locals and curiosity from visitors. The owners and team clearly see themselves as custodians as much as publicans, and that care shows, from the warm welcome to the way the history is woven into every corner. Yet this is no museum piece. The cocktail programme is confident and contemporary, led by a bartender whose precision and flair have made these drinks a local draw, classics done right and inventive signatures that don’t try too hard.
