Blarney Castle & Gardens
Review
Having endorsed Blarney Castle for the second time in my Top 100 Attractions on the Island of Ireland book, I can say with confidence that this is so much more than the world-famous Blarney Stone. Yes, kissing the stone is most definitely a rite of passage, but it’s only the beginning. The castle is steeped in atmosphere and history, while the gardens are a genuine highlight, peaceful, dramatic and immaculately kept. Take time to wander the woodland walks, discover hidden corners, and soak up the sense of place. Blarney House adds another layer of insight into the estate and the people who shaped it. What really elevates the experience though, is the team: from knowledgeable guides and hardworking gardeners to the welcoming café staff, everyone is eager to help. Definitely allow a full day; you’ll still want more. Ireland’s Top 10? Absolutely and it truly has something for every visitor.
