Vienna Woods Hotel
Review
The Vienna Woods Hotel, tucked away into the pretty Cork suburb of Glanmire, is the sort of place that makes you slow down and hold hands a little tighter. I’ve made no secret of my fondness for Glanmire, it’s a perfect base for exploring the Rebel County, with Titanics Cobh, Blarney Castle and Blarney Woollen Mills all within easy reach. Set in what was once a fine country house, the hotel sits proudly above the Glashaboy River, its roots reaching back to 1756. Family-owned and headed by experienced hotelier Michael Magner, this traditional, yet contemporary hotel runs with a polish that rivals far bigger names, yet never loses that warm, personal welcome. Bedrooms are stylish and genuinely comfortable, and the restaurant feels made for lingering dinners and shared desserts. For couples craving quiet luxury and Cork adventures by day, Vienna Woods delivers a getaway you’ll remember long after you’ve checked out.
