Ballyhoura Farm Escape Experience
Review
Tucked into the spectacular Ballyhoura Mountains, Ballyhoura Farm Escape Experience here at the historic Houndscourt, is the kind of place that reminds you why rural Ireland is so special. Run by Anne Drake and her farmer husband William, this family-owned farm delivers an unrivalled hands-on adventure that’s worth every penny. Their multi-generational home has been lovingly renovated, blending modern comfort with stylish charm that instantly puts you at ease. Out on the farm, there’s a brilliant choice of animal encounters, from alpaca trekking across the fields to a playful frolic with the pigs, and getting to grips with the wonderfully batty goats. Before long you’ll be smiling, laughing, and completely won over by the characters on four legs. For anyone wanting the full escape, the on-site accommodation lets you soak up that true Irish farming spirit, waking to mountain views and fresh country air. It’s wholesome, memorable, and wonderfully Irish.

Molly’s Restaurant & Takeaway
Molly’s Restaurant & Takeaway in Kilfinnane has taken an exciting new direction, and it’s a change that truly works. Having been featured in my last edition, I knew the new owners would have big boots to fill, but Samantha and her husband have stepped confidently into the role.

Thatch & Thyme
Set right on the Cork–Limerick border, Thatch & Thyme is the kind of restaurant that feels like a brilliant local secret you’re delighted to discover. Privately owned for more than a decade, Joanne McEldowney has created an award-winning dining room that’s just as adored by locals as it is by the judges.
